John appears to be on a vendetta as a bounty hunter, and it seems as if he is a lone wolf, working outside of his biker gang in the present. John’s biker gang, reminds him that “Phoebe” is dead. A man with a head tattoo, possibly a member of St. The assumption here, based on the language he uses, is that she either fell victim to the virus herself, or was taken out by someone afflicted with the virus. In the trailer, he recounts riding down the open road with a woman, presumably his wife or girlfriend. While we don’t know much about the character, we know that the virus affected his personal life. It's also known to infect species other than humans, most notably wolves, bears, and crows. All freakers appear to have their skins covered in blood sores, and the infected humans seem to be hairless. The virus grants them superior strength, speed and agility to that of a non-infected creature of their species, but they become feral, cannibalistic and aggressive as a result. They are a major antagonist force, and catalyst for events in Days Gone. Freakers are humans and animals that fell victim to an infection called the "Freaker Virus", turning them into ravenous cannibalistic monsters.
